Plane travel

So the 4:08 a.m. train from Sydney lumbered in and at 4:30 a.m. we were underway after numerous announcements that spoke of delays including a signals failure. There was a cavalcade of police also - one very very tall thin officer with short sleeves (brrr!) followed by another 3. Apparently there was a runaway on the train being collected, as things turned out, by a young chap who was doing circuits around the perimeter on his bike. Amazing what goes on at this time of day …

I quite like the train journey to Melbourne but as it was pitch black outside, I caught some ZZZ’s until first light around 6:15 a.m. some time after Benalla. Being the XPT, there are few stops so it has been a smooth journey.

Am wondering if I hve left anything important behind ...

XXXXXXXXXX

Or flight departs about 20 mins late and I watched 2 beaut films: ‘Women Talking’ and ‘My Sailor, My Love’ (this one set in the Achill Islands) - both very touching - and the much-acclaimed ‘Tár’ (I enjoyed the film greatly but found it somewhat different from what I expected from the reviews I had read). Three films! It certainly passed the time to Singapore. Lost 2 hours.

We walk and do stretches around Changi Airport - and buy a little tub of Tiger Balm to massage into my knees still a bit sore after my hiking in the Grampians last week.

Arrive half past midnight - lost another 4 hours.

The usual network issues have arisen and I currently can’t blog … am waiting for the maestro to come up with a solution …
